Default You know you have been having fun

When there is brake dust every where on the car. Finally got around to washing the car after the last autoX & track day 3 weeks ago .The brake dust turned to rust on the wheels and made cleaning almost impossible. Then the fine details of brake dust collecting on the crevices along the body.

Hope Dwight and Kurt had a blast creating this mess.

I had a 96' Lt4. Guy before me let the brake dust collect for a long time. Was so bad, it destroyed the rims. You would have to grind some of the stock wheel away to get it all off there. oh well hope the new owner has fun.

Those are some mean looking brakes!

A claybar might help on the embedded brake particles that have rusted?

Looks like you had some fun with the dust on the back quarter!

I found Mequires wax cleaner in the tan bottle will clean the dust off wheels if it's stuck hard but hasn't done damage yet, takes some time though. It also will remove the melted chuncks of rubber off the painted surfaces from the track pretty easily.

Also heard the carbotech pads aren't corrosive, hawk pads are more in my price range though.

Oh yea, lots of fun till the serp belt gave up. Caused a little damage, but it's all fixed now.

Carbotech pads will rust, it's just the nature of the beast.

Really, really nice brakes!

I hope you also had some fun creating all that dust!

Just got mine cleaned up after a two day event. She handled and ran great. (except for the broke fr wheel bearing and a flat tire).

Was just curious what oil temps you run? I can get mine up to the yellow bar probably 250 after trying to keep up with the C6zo6's(and it does pretty good considering it's a 19 year old car), it seems that's where it would stop if I don't back down. It was about 75 to 80 so not a real hot day. Cools down if I back off. Put the big mouth on and I think it helped with water temps.
