Re: Proper PS procedure
Here is what I did, I filled up the resivior started the car for few seconds and turned the wheel shut off the motor and topped off the resivior, started it again turned the wheel shut it off and checked the level if it needed more I added it then I test drove it and checked it again all you don't want to happen is cavitating that PS pump the air will work its way out.
But I can get you the FSM procedure if you want it.

Re: Proper PS procedure
After doing what Phrogs posted, under advice from a pump vendor, at idle I rapidly cycled the steering lock to lock twenty times or so since this car doesn't see much street use. I put newspapers under the front tires since it was on slicks at the time.
Good luck, - Jeff PS here's a plug for Jeff at Turn One, their stock replacement ZR-1 pump seems to have cured my persistent issues. I'm even back to the stock cooler, which is a good thing since I was fixing for an argument on rules with the wacky setup I had in place. PPS, Turn One now has a nice aluminum pump for ZR-1, saves a few pounds and up high & in front to boot, great part but too bad I couldn't use it due to rules.

They don't list LT5 on their catalog page but have definitely developed solutions for us, in either stock replacement or aluminum. Cheers, - Jeff

Re: Proper PS procedure
Thankyou for the info. So the system purges itself of air? Seems easy enough.
