Just want to say this site is great. I noticed I had a oil leak. Went online and determined it was at the header stud. read how to fix it and was set to put it back in when sure enough I dropped it in the abiss. Now how do I get it out, or do I just buy a new stud, if so where do I get it from.

Have you tried a long flexable/spring type magnet yet? It's big enough you should be able to retrieve it.

No, not yet it was late last night and I was to pissed to think. I wasn't sure what type of metal it was and if a magnet would work.

A mini mag flashlight, a magnet on a stick, and a dental exam mirror are your friends.

IT IS ONE PAIN IN THE a**. I HAVE BIG HANDS AND THE BOLT IS AT A Tough ANGLE. Took me about 2 1/2 hours not including getting the bolt I dropped. After retrieving bolt I stuffed paper towel into header area. Goood thing because dropped bolt 2 more times. Good Luck.
