Default Stress Bar

I think that is the name of the bar that is available from Ecklers, that stiffens up the rear of these cars, are they easy to install and do they really help. I am trying to find a way to take as much flex out of the car as possible, has anyone used this item.
Thanks haber rj

What Stress bar?
I have the stock type X Brace, but this aftermarket brace is better.

I have seen the stress bar used on two C4's at recent Auto-X events; talked with both owners and they both recommended them for Auto-X.

Thank you all for thefollow up information, but the brace that I have seen is the one that goes behing the seats and attaches to where the seat belts are ankered. This bar has the mounts for the fire extingusher & a camera.

You mean a harness bar, which is what they are normally called. I had one until i went to a 4 pt roll bar. They are nice and will help eliminate a few squeeks and rattles. The main draw is they give you a place to put a harness.

Thank you for correcting me on the name, so I guess that if you aren't going to use a harness it would be a waste of money, or it would just be cosmetic.
