Won't hurt to put some sealer around it now but as ALZR1 stated, if it 'Has' been disturbed then it's pretty tough to seal externally. If you think you might have disturbed it Lee, & want to try to seal it, what I would use is Green Loc-Tite (can't remember the number 548 maybe...?) couple different kinds of Green, basically it's a stud & bearing mount that's designed to flow into parts that are already assembled. Best way would be to stand the crank on end, short of that I'd heat up the cup plug in the crank a little with a heat gun, give it some Green, then rotate the engine so it flows 360º around the plug. Can't hurt .

does not appear it moved, at all so i am not going to mess with it.

A friend was replacing his pilot bearing in a 90 LT5. I warned him about the plug but he must have forgotten. If it leaks, it will leak a lot! We didnt have time to find another plug so we machined up a pilot bushing with a blind hole. Worked great.

I haven't done this excercise yet, but may have it coming this winter....does anyone have a pic of this plug?
