Departing Waynesboro, GA on Wed @ 10 AM
Route: Augusta - Atlanta - Chattanooga - Nashville - BG
ETA @ 5 PM

Returning on Sunday, same route.

Would enjoy caravan going up, coming back or both.

Hey Gator, How's that coffee?

There are quite a few people going from the MD and NoVA area (and North) who have informally talked about grouping up.

It appears to be time to make some firm plans. Thanks for getting the process started.

I will be taking a side trip on the way down so, unless you want to add about 80 miles to the journey, don't follow me.

From central Maryland, the shortest/quickest route (according to Google map) is to go out I-70 to I-68 and then south on I-79 and east on I-64. I went this way last year. It is a beautiful drive and traffic was not a problem. I made it in 10.5 hours from Westminster (763 miles). I was rolling and I only made short stops. Your results may vary.

From the I-66 area of NoVA, it appears that the shortest route is west on I-66 to I-81 south to I-64 west. I don't know what the travel time is for this route.

There are some folks from NJ and NY who have expressed an interest in meeting up with our groups. I hope they will post up here also.

Most of the people I have talked to are planning to drive on Wednesday, 13 May. There is scheduled to be a pizza and brews social at the Holiday Inn on Wednesday evening. I believe it starts at 7PM. So pick your departure time accordingly. However, last year the "social" lasted late into the night, so whenever you arrive and where ever you are staying, stop by the Holiday Inn on Wednesday evening.

So with all that said, post up what your plans and ideas for the trip are.

Jim
