Snail's pace. This market is killing me.
Waiting on the induction system back from the head shop, (still) ![]() Got a sample of the final valvetrain pieces now, retainers, springs & seats, locks, and bucket followers. The valves are o/s stainless with 7mm undercut stems. At this point, I might just concede and do the 402 rather than the big bore 427. Either would be more than enough power. I have to decide if the extra cubes are worth cubic dollars! ![]() How's yours? Todd |

Sure
The top end should be done 2-3 weeks ![]() The block is in Spokane now. They need to make tq plate for the block. I think he said it will be 4" T-6. ARP studs for the bottom end are a no go. I tried to have them made, no luck. I'm to small of a order, I guess. I wanted 5 sets made, no luck. Ron Woods is working on having them made ( multiples ). Everything on the LT5 just takes forever to get done. It has not been a cash shortage on my end. I guess if I did all the work myself it would go faster. I don't have Rottler boring and Sunnen honing tools. As porting, I'm only OK at it. I want this little 402 hit 625-640 (motor hp) then the NOS on top. How yours doing Todd ![]() |

Things are moving now. Block is in Chicago and now waiting pistons. Crank is getting ground down, also waiting pistons for final balancing. Heads are, well, closer. Should have final chamber volume today so that I can finally get the pistons ordered. Cams are waiting flow numbers from the heads. It is all interdependent.... If I don't get these heads back soon. 15 months and counting. Better be worth it.
Funny, I also went down the ARP main stud path. They finally stopped returning my calls. Todd Last edited by tpepmeie; 07-07-2009 at 06:59 AM. |
