Made the mistake of telling the wife that a black ZR1 just sold for 137,000.00=D> What do you think her response was?

Re: BJ AUCTION ON SPEED
I like very much seeing the prices on the ZR-1s.... especially the 1990 Red at $60K... makes me very much!.
BJ was helpful for me... watching BJ 2006 Palm Beach got my interest really fired for a ZR-1 and did not know that a 90 Red on Red that sold at that auction was going to be in my garage year and half later.

Re: BJ AUCTION ON SPEED
That seems kinda low for what is a pretty cool/unique car. Though it is fairly hideous...

Re: BJ AUCTION ON SPEED
The BJ web site had the '90 going for $66,000. Any ideas why so much, when Ebay has 'em so much cheaper? Mileage?
Anyway, great to see.

Re: BJ AUCTION ON SPEED
Actually, it went for $60K... the $66K figure includes BJ commissions. Prices at BJ tend to be higher, BUT also do not know of condition of the vehicles... know of low mileage ZR-1s (as in under 1000 miles on odo) that have problems due to improper storage, care (causing scratches in paint as an example), lack of changing fluids, etc. so mileage can not be the only indicator for higher or lower costs for the ZR... each needs to survive on it own merits.
Also, maybe the breed is starting to more recognized which in turn brings in higher sale values...

Re: BJ AUCTION ON SPEED
It's cool to see that 90' grab $60k, but I am skeptical that this one car will set the values for the 6000 other ZR-1s.
I will be very interested to read Corvette Market Magazine's take on these sales. Past issues seem to value quality low mileage 90's between 25k to 28k. Can't imagine having a ZR-1 and not driving it though...unless you have two. |
