Over the next weekend Im planning on removing a rear spindle from my 1990 ZR1 and was wondering if anyone here has tackled this? If so are there any special tools or procedures to follow? Any advice on making the job easy? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need a T55 (size?) Torx bit for the three bolts inside by the u-joint.
The FSM spec of 164 lb-ft torque spec for the spindle nut was later changed to 200. The FSM is helpful if you've never done one before.

i have put rear bearings in both my cars .i personally found it easier to just remove the whole housing to get at the t55 torx bolt otherwise its a tight squeeze. it takes about 2 hrs if you go slow and clean everything . an hr per side . not a hard job at all
