I'll post a pic of the door tomorrow. I had to have it raised, which required the installation of a jack shaft opener. Not cheap, but a good solution.

GC, Here are some pictures of my lift. The jack shaft opener is very important to get a good install. I learned a very expensive lesson with my original Genie Screw Drive.

If your door opening is a standard height, you just need to add track extensions to "raise" the door out of the way of a car on the lift.

The door on the right has an extra door panel to allow the overhead door opener to reach it. You can see the extension in the tracks that make the door higher up when it is open.

The black "L" shaped piece is a car killer if you are not careful!!!!! That is what the jack shaft opener eliminates.

And, the Money Shot:

Here is the manufacturer's site for the Liftmaster 3800 jackshaft garage door opener that both Jim and I installed.

http://www.liftmaster.com/consumerweb/pages/productmodeldetail.aspx?modelId=834

I bought it online here

I promised a couple of pictures of my reconfigured garage door. It is hard to distinguish the door from the ceiling in the photos. In the raised position, the door is about an inch from the ceiling.

You got your garage door really close to the ceiling. Good Job. Looks nice.
