Re: Now accepting advice?? look inside
OK...here we go.
The fine fellow in the yellow t-shirt, kneeling behind the red ZR-1 in your top photo is Will Barrett. The engine in his car is a Lingenfelter 415. It does not have turbos or a supercharger. The white ZR-1 in your second picture belongs to Paul Smith, super nice guy too. His ZR-1 also has a Lingenfelter 415 and does not have turbochargers. It's SW's old ZR-1 and damn fast. Paul's red ZR-1 (not pictured) is a Lingenfelter 368, twin turbo (no Stage III cams). It is one of 4 Lingenfelter ZR-1 TT cars. It was also at Corey's shop. Paul has installed an automatic trans since LPE did the work. A real prince of a guy. After visiting with a few of the other guys, none of us are aware of a supercharged ZR-1 except for Randy Wood's which was debuted in Bowling Green last May. He's not from Houston & the car is not white. Naturally, if the car you saw was a ZR-1 with an LT5 engine, we are all very curious about it. No one has ever heard of an LT5 415 supecharged or turbocharged except for what you've said here. Please confirm the details & find out more for us. Maybe you can contact the firm that did the dyno on it. BTW, I'm the guy you thought "married up"

Re: Now accepting advice?? look inside
I will try to get some more info and pictures of the car. Maybe I can convince him to come to the get together if we have one next year. He said he doesn't fool with any of the forums. Kind of a recluse in the ZR-1 circle. I guess there are a few of them out there.

Re: Now accepting advice?? look inside
I believe it was 10.5 or 10.6 at 135mph. Very fast for a street car. On page two of this thread I posted a video of a 700hp 415 ZR-1 drag racing that turned out almost identical times. I don't know who's ZR-1 that is in the video. But I'm sure somebody on here will know. Post#20

if your buying a car because of the need for speed you need to skip corvettes all together. lol. i know im going to catch hell for saying that and dont get the wrong idea. i LOVE corvettes and i LOVE my 93 ZR-1. if i was in the market for a toy, this is what i would be saving for. it is powered by the best power plant on the planet; SBC its the fastest super car on the planet and costs less then a 2009 ZR1 delivered to your door. if you buy it in kit form, you can put it together yourself for around $60k http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/gtr/index.html 0-60mph 2.7secs 0-100mph (never leaves second gear!) 5.5secs 0-150mph 11.8secs 30-70mph 2.0secs 0-100mph-0 (i have seen a video on this website where it did this in 9.4sec) 10.3secs 100mph-0 Braking 3.9secs Speed Achieved 204mph on the Bruntingthorpe straight Top Speed 231mph est. (gearing limited) Standing ¼ mile 10.5secs @ 140mph terminal * Engine Chevrolet V8 377cu in Power 641bhp (at the crank!... not RWHP) Torque 545ft/lbs Transmission Porsche G50 (capable of handling more than 1000hp) they have a newer GTR 720 which has 720hp and the 1/4mile time was well down into the nines. these stats are a little out dated but the GTR720 out performs the bugatti veyron in every catagory for around 5 cents on the dollar. the newer stats are somewhere on the website but i dont have the time to find them at the moment. Its not a KIT car! i think technically it is considered a component car but its also considered the fastest Super Car on the planet but i suppose thats all just symantics. Corvettes are amazing machines but they have their limits and they will never be as fast as a GTR. mainly because the GTR weighs 2000lbs. Chris

Re: Now accepting advice?? look inside
you can buy the GTR in stages which allows you to put different parts of the car together and it would cost around 60k or for around 90k it can be delivered to your door ready run minus a small block chevy of your choosing. The term "kit car" refers to kits that use existing chassis or frames from a donor vehicle like the fiero/lambo kits. "component car" refers to a vehicle that is entirely new manufactured materials from a company other then an actual auto manufacturer. this vehicle started life as a purpose built road race car but was quickly banned from competition for an unfair advantage as it was lapping all competition and finishing 1,2,3 at almost every event they raced in. any automotive enthusiest should be able to appreciate the level of engineering that went into this car. in my mind, its a master piece. i realized a long time ago that using a mass produced passenger car for all out performance was inherantly flawed so i had actually set out to try to design and engineer my own component car that would hopefully be capable of this level of performance, then i found GTR on the internet while beginning my research about five years ago and i knew instantly that it was what i had been looking for and that i could never engineer anything that would perform better. i know this is not the purpose your thread was intended for and i apologize for that, sounds like you have already made up your mind on how to proceed with your next corvette purchase and i wish you luck. i just figured there might be a few people out there that dont know about the GTR who might appreciate the car.
Chris http://www.fastestlaps.com/track1.html The Caparo T1 is a street legal F1 car that posted faster lap times then the GTR which is very impressive but far out of my price range at over $400,000. The GTR still is faster then the T1 in acceleration but the T1 pulls 2.8G's on the skid pad which is why it pulls faster laps.
