Stainless Clamps for SAMCO Air Duct
I found the ultimate clamps in my opinion for the SAMCO intake if anyone is interested:
http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...el+Hose+Clamps Size 96 is what is needed and although a little pricey, they are nonperforated, stainless steel and very good quality worm gear. I bought the red tips too since mine is red. They don't rip you off with shipping, etc. and you can only order the eaches even though it appears with box/10 once in your shopping cart. Just thought I would share if anyone is interested. Aloha! Last edited by HAWAIIZR-1; 08-16-2008 at 03:52 PM. |

Re: Stainless Clamps for SAMCO Air Duct
You're welcome. Sorry, I forgot to mention that size 96 (same size as black, stock clamp) is on back order until September. Size 104 is on hand, but has a little bit of excess; not an issue if you will keep the worm gear hidden underneath or you can trim off the excess. I'll post a pic soon.

Re: Stainless Clamps for SAMCO Intake
I found it impossible to get the original clamps back on with the samco duct installed - just too tight. So the #104 would be slightly bigger and probably work better for me.
Good find and thanks for passing on the info.

Sorry I made a mistake about the size based on measurement and conversation with their tech person. The stock clamp opened up extends to 6 1/2", but looking at my stock black clamp it is a size 92 and yours should have it stamped too. The size 96 is what I am waiting for as the #104 works but has too much excess even though it is supposed to be 7" max clamp but you can imagine 1/2" is not really just 1/2" as shown on this picture. After trimming off and putting my caps on here is what it looks like and it works, but I rather not trim the clamps. |

Re: Stainless Clamps for SAMCO Intake
I guess these only come in a box of 10?
What is the correct size to order? Do they just come with red tips or can you get black? Last edited by xlr8nflorida; 08-21-2008 at 03:12 AM. |

Re: Stainless Clamps for SAMCO Intake
I contacted the company and it seems to be only in boxes of 10 - they only list red tips but I imagine other places would do black the tips are pretty standard I think

Re: Stainless Clamps for SAMCO Intake
As I mentioned earlier, put 1 box in your cart and when you place the order it will allow you to change to each. I only ordered two; I wanted size 96 but they are on back order until sometime in Sep. My stock black clamps have size 92 stamped on them (if they are OEM). I could not get the guy to open up the clamp and measure the lenght (I guess that would be asking too much), so we discussed the max range circumfrence compared with my stock clamp. I don't think they sell the caps in black, but I'm sure they are available somewhere else. Those do add a nice touch for the other hoses that can be seen; I used them on all the SAMCO coolant hose clamps.

Re: Stainless Clamps for SAMCO Intake
Actually I just had the hose off when I was looking at fitting the SLP and had another attempt with the stock clamps and they DID go on but it was a very tight fit. I must have been too gentle on them when I initially tried.
