Default Help...Good Deal or Not -1990 ZR1

Hi all, Newb here. I'm looking at buying a 1990 ZR1, black, manual, full load(whatever that means and the car has a special package on it )
Anyway, it has rebuilt status. The story was it was stolen and on a container for offshore when it was recovered. Since it had been more then 3 months, the ins. co. paid out. the story is once they pay out, the car has to be written off. it has 24000 miles and it does look mint in, out and under. I am looking to offer 23-25K. Good deal? No? Runaway?
Any feedback would be great.
Thx

Welcome to the forum. Feel free to ask all the questions you want.

You can find a similar car with miles and condition with out the branded title for the same money. I would pass.

Check here for some other ZR-1's for sale. http://zr1netregistry.com/ZR1_sale.htm

local guy, cool . i would stay away from it as well. if the story starts out like that it usually gets more tangled & complex rather than the other way. there is lots of goods ones out there if you know where to look, as Jeff said, instead of jumping into the middle of a, maybe, headache. feel free to ask on here .

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I would not pay that type of money for one with that title issue. You will find plenty of ZR-1's without title problems in great shape that will have greater resale. If you want to buy that one, lower your offer considerably based on the title. Good luck and let us know when you buy a KOTH.

Like Jeffvette said, you can get a clean-titled ZR-1 for that same amount of money without any of those question marks. I'd offer a LOT less for that particular car.

JMHO......and I ain't one of the more knowledgable Z owners.....but for that $ you can find low milage 90's, 20k miles and under & one owner clean titles, all day long...ya just have to look for them.

Ofcourse if they want to donate the car to ya....well then go for it....otherwise do yourself a favor & keep looking. This is a very good time to be a buyer of ZR-1's.

2,400 is pretty low mileage though. You won't be finding those for that price. I'd think you'd want to make sure to do a LOT of homework on it before buying, and I'd think closer to the teens for price. If in fact you get it well checked out and everything looks ok, it would be a neat way to drive the hell out of an almost new Z for cheap.
