Screw the ZR-1....
Hahahaha..... just messing with you guys.
The point of my post is that I have owned my 91 Z since 2015. I will never ever sell it, ever........But yesterday I was detailing her, and I found about 15 different screws that were very loose, or about to fall out. These were all in the inside of the car, like the rear Bose speaker covers ( one cover was missing 2 screws) , the parking brake cover, some screws in the console, and other places....... I know its a 30 year old car, things shake and come loose. But just wondering if anyone else has had to re- tighten things? I didn't mind, just was suprised I had that many and never noticed. |

Re: Screw the ZR-1....
Yeah I remember occasionally finding a few screws on the floor of my ZR-1s but I could never figure out where they came from. Left a couple in the glove compartment when I sold them.--Bob

Re: Screw the ZR-1....
Yes, had a screw fall in my lap from the inside trim piece. Checked and had to tighten a few more. Good practice to check every once in a while. Thanks for the reminder, going to the garage to check now.

Re: Screw the ZR-1....
Not only the interior fasteners. Any time I am under the car I check all bolts, screws, nuts, etc. Keeping everything correctly torqued not only prevent rattles, but leaks as well.
Pan bolts/nuts and water pump bolts are common culprits if they haven't been previously checked.

Re: Screw the ZR-1....
Absolutely! I tighten every screw that I come across. Did a total screw check a few years ago on my 95. Now it's just a maintenance issue.
