Hey everyone..looking for some advice. Driving my 90 ZR-1 (12.5k miles) to work this morning and it suddenly quit. it felt like it just ran out of gas, but no sputtering...rpms just dropped to nothing and then out. coasted to the side of the road and tried to restart...but it just cranked away. Full tank of gas and no other issues have every popped up. I have owned the car for a year and put about 2K miles on it with no problems. Anyway the only thing i was able to glean from searching other posts was possible problem with fuel pump lines coming off in the tank. Had the car towed to our local Vette shop here, which happens to be closed today, and will talk to them tomorrow. Any other thoughts from you would be super appreciated.

Check if the car starts when cold and let it idle to warm up. During start up and cold coolant both pumps work whereas the secondary will shut down as coolant warms up. So if the engine stops the primary is likely to be out.
For sure the pros here also have more sophisticated procedures but this should be a good starting point. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G991B using ZR-1 Net Registry mobile app

Thanks for the tip. I did try and start it again after we towed it to the shop (they're not open today). No luck. I'll pass the information on to my mechanics when they get to work tomorrow. Any other tips really welcome. The shop in Olympia (Capital Corvette) is really good and super supportive, but have limited experience with the LT5 so help is appreciated.

Nothing to add to what Jim Voter may have said/written, but am curious to hear what you finally come up with! ![]() |

I think coolant temp triggers secondary pump shut off. If I remember correct, 167 degrees.
