Default Header install kits.

I'm about to order my headers, and I was wondering about getting one of those install kits with them. Both BC Vettes and SRP have them (with slightly different components). Worth it?

I ordered mine from SRP and was happy with it.
However I think some have not cared for the hex like bolt heads for certain spots during the install.

I would add that the materials are well made.

I don't think the guy from BC Vettes makes them any longer. Bolts you can get anywhere they are M8 x 45mm. You really only need one O2 ext. as the driver's side is easily re-routed. Maybe Marc H. would sell you one.

QB,
Do you use spacers with the M8 x 45mm bolts?

Good catch. M8X45 is the stock size so, they would need them. I'm away from the garage at the moment but, if I remember right they were about the same length as my plenum bolts. Sorry about that. Are you going to grab another set? The car sounds wicked with your headers, Random tech. cats and the Flowmaster setup.

QB,
Glad to hear you put those headers to work in that fine looking Z of yours. My guess M8 x 25 mm bolts would work however, I would like to hear from someone with first hand header install experience on what they found worked best for them. I'm not a big fan of socket heads bolts for this job and would rather prefer using either small diameter hex or 12 point head cladded or SS M8 bolts instead.
In the meantime I was totally overcome by jealousy and envy of your project so I went ahead and put in an order for a set of ceramic coated SW headers just like the new ones I sold you. Also pick up a Corsa SS exhaust system while at it. Both just arrived and are standing by in the basement along side the Fidanza aluminum flywheel I picked up on sale from Kurt White , Hurst shifter off Ebay, and a new set of Accel injectors from Atlantic Speed. Also have a spare Dana 44 pumpkin that I picked up from a doctor from outside of Detroit that I'm building up with a new set of 4.10 Viper gears. When the weather warms up a little I plan the take a few days off work and install them all in one shot. Before I start though I want to get a good base line dyno pull in so I can determine exactly what the power gain is after the mods are completed. One thing I still need are cats. Where did you pick yours up and how did you install them? Pics would be great.
