EGR tube leak
The tube is shot and needs to be replaced. Any tips on where to get a new?
It's a 94 ZR-1 with Watson headers and Corsa exhaust. received_839573393244796.jpg20200828_173703.jpg Sent from my SM-G955F using ZR-1 Net Registry mobile app

Re: EGR tube leak
Another question is: Do I need the EGR at all? My old 91 ZR-1 did not have it.

There will not be any codes to deal with if we do this? Finally, where do I get new parts to fix it? Sent from my SM-G955F using ZR-1 Net Registry mobile app

Re: EGR tube leak
Hi NorwegianMopar!
Are you sure your EGR tube is "shot?" I see the outer heat shield with crimped solid inside tubing. It all looks secure. Mark Haibeck taught me that the connector is called an Oetiker clamp and uses a special tool to crimp. Interesting to look up. Removing your EGR system because you don't need/want the smog option is another issue. Good luck! PS: Looking at your pictures again I think I see a crack in the outer (heat) shielding. Is that what you are talking about? Not a problem, or at most maybe apply a wrap of heat resistant tape.

Marc Haibeck has the parts I need, so I guess it has to be done. NOX w/o EGR in my car will be twice the level of a 92 that doesn't have EGR if I remove it - bad when trying to pass the emission control... Typical my luck just 500 miles or so after it had a full tune up and service at Haibeck's last summer... Sent from my SM-G955F using ZR-1 Net Registry mobile app
