Re: VIDEO: 218 mph top speed run
Graham, tease us. Just tell us enough to make us want to hear the rest.

Re: VIDEO: 218 mph top speed run
That's a crazy piece of footage. I'd forgotten about that '98 test in R&T.
That track at Ft. Stockton was treacherous eight years before on the Record Run. To think that someone would go 218 on a track having banked turns with no guardrails, is freakin' amazing. Ole Lingey's balls were so big he had to roll them around in a freakin' wheelbarrow. As for this......Ok, Behan, you're on. If I make it to the NCM C4 event next year for the Record Run's 30th, I'll buy and you freakin' tell all, sucker.

Re: VIDEO: 218 mph top speed run
Is that the event where Mario drove each car?

I suppose it coulda been...my memory of that is a bit foggy, but I thought John L. was the driver.

Re: VIDEO: 218 mph top speed run
Paul Smith showed a video of that event at one of our TX BBQs about 8 years ago. We ran and re-ran the part where a Viper caught on fire on the other side of the track and they tried to put the fire out by throwing sand on it. Memories that can't be un-seen.

Re: VIDEO: 218 mph top speed run
So he's the guy with balls so big he rolls them around in a wheelbarrow.
I stand corrected!

Re: VIDEO: 218 mph top speed run
It’s just a matter of time. The early years back in the 50s with his brother Marco have to be put to film. And the best thing to happen to that Viper was the flames.
