According to the picture, it would appear that red 90's are also the most likely to break.

I know we're just having fun here, but statistics can be tricky - towit:

In the period preceding discovering the vaccine to prevent Polio, the soft drink Coka-Cola for a time appeared to be statistically linked to spread of the disease: In summer, the spike of consumption of "Coke" and Polio outbreaks tracked "hand-in-hand".

For some, it was a real Ah-HA! moment. But, later it was determined the disease was transmitted from the alimentary canal (gut) of the infected via water, e.g., public swimming pools! And, when do people most often swim, and what also makes people thirsty? Summertime (heat)! Poor ol' Coke just happened to be one of the more popular soft drinks, so some drew the false and premature conclusion that Coke and Polio were linked.

So for those readers as yet unfamiliar with the ZR-1, Statistics from the Registry's web site should be considered before drawing any accidental conclusions about "Red" cars and 1990 ZR-1s in particular...
  • The vast majority - 44% of ALL ZR-1s are 1990 MY,
  • 52% of 1990s were RED - nearly equal to the total production from '92 -95 combined
  • 82% of ALL ZR-1s were made between 90-92 and their OE Multitec injectors were susceptible to alcohol fuel blends (relatively easy to fix tho).

So Paul, u r suggesting that the breakdown rate for “red ZR-1’s” is not disproportionate to the overall % of the ZR-1 population represented by those painted red. Any correlation of broken down ZR-1s and the color red is a spurious one in other words.

I don't care now. Red is prone to breakdown. Selling mine and buying a Black Rose.
