Changing clutch hydraulic line
Seems the consensus is when changing the clutch hydraulic line to use the '91/'95 version. (I have '90# 442).
When changing from the hard line w/short rubber hose of the '90 to the braided line of the '91/'95 what do you do about securing the line in place? The '90 line is secured on front of firewall (PIA to get to !!) and with the upper catalytic converter shield bolt. Do not think the same holders will work with a braided line. Let me know what you have done. I have not ordered the line yet, so can still get the original style if necessary. Thanks in advance for the advise.

Re: Changing clutch hydraulic line
The '90 attachment clips will fit the '91 - '95 hose assembly.
The diameter of the tubing on the later assembly is smaller than the '90 so it will fit in the clip on the firewall. The trick to get that 7 mm head fastener out is to approach it from above with about 18" of 1/4" drive extensions. Go in next to the ECM. The lower clip on the '90 will fit on the later hose because the braided hose is about the same diameter as the '90 hose assembly's hard line. |

Thanks Marc, Re: Changing clutch hydraulic line
Thanks for the info Marc. I did not have one of the '91/'95 lines in hand so did not know the diameter.
The 7mm head bolt on the firewall is in a very inconvenient position. I was able to access it from the bottom by removing the brake line shield on the frame beside the CAT. I am changing the cylinders out for cast ones. Will keep the originals for possible rebuild. I'll get the '91/'95 line coming. You guys are GREAT !!!
