![]() As far as the AC. The manual system would have been a good call back in the day, but how were we to know there would be so few with them?

In 1990 only 124 ZR-1's were ordered without RPO-C68 (i.e. they were equipped with RPO-C60, Manual A/C) making them somewhat rare. The final ZR-1 built with RPO-C60 was VIN #2957. I didn't realize the uniqueness of the C60 option until Gordon Killebrew pointed it out to me at a gathering a number of years ago. Since then I've been looking for the other 123. Additional info HERE. |

However, any of the three versions will work on any C-4. The roof panel itself is the same, but the fastening methods and hardware were upgraded twice from the original design. To make a different version work you have to change to the proper attaching hardware that corresponds to the top. That also requires that you change the interior trim pieces to correspond with the proper year hardware. While it is far simpler to use the correct version that corresponds to your year, we have run across numerous examples of mostly newer tops retrofitted to earlier cars. My guess is they likely bought an incorrect top to replace a damaged one, and then figured out the process to make it work Most major parts suppliers carry what is needed. Remember, you don't change the hardware on the panel, you change the receiving hardware on the header and B pillar. Marty |
