It was because if you got a flat the 315 rear tire will not fit inside the car. The coups like the ZR-1 comes with the pouch and straps to put the 315 tire in back. It will not fit in the spare carrier either, only the front tire will.

I’ve got a picture of the car but can’t post it. The car looks nothing like what was paid for it.

more amazing to me was watching the Fox body mustangs go through the sale. they were all extremely nice and most were totally stock and low low miles (under 10k) but holy cow $40k for a 93 convertible with 8k miles? these prices are coming from the 'I had one when I was 20 yrs old and now I want to relive my youth' I think.

not many folks who bought new ZR-1s were in their youth! haha. I never owned a Fox body but I did own a 96 SVT Cobra; it was a nice car and did things well. but it isn't even in the same galaxy as my 90 ZR-1 in performance or handling!

one day, it'll be like a switch goes off and suddenly our ZR-1s will become 'hot'. I honestly believe that will become a fact. but I don't really care that much because I've wanted to own one since I was 20 yrs old and 3 yrs ago I finally had the means and I love driving my stock '90 (sparingly cause it only has 9k miles on it) on a nice sunny day blasting around on the back roads and I don't ever really plan on selling it until i'm unable to push in a clutch and row them gears!

I had years ago the last year 5.0 Mustang,a 95 convertible.......Nice car....I found the 5.0 over rated....Nice car yes, but I would hardly call it a performance car.......Don't even think about using it in the rain or snow....

You've got the car you've wanted sense you were a kid, you say you're going to keep it forever, you should Drive it every time you take the notion to. Don't "save it" like so many others do. With only 9K on it you're just getting started...Enjoy.

Mustangs have been notorious in slippery conditions. More so than Vettes for some reason

Yeah the Challengers are like that too. Even the newer stuff has ridiculous size tires for that much power.
