Yes, I agree with you. My Sachs clutch kit and Fidanza clutch kit both came with the genuine bearing. Jim Jandik knows all the details of the 5 Ws with these clutch release bearings. I also have yet one more brand for early model BCA Bearing (Federal Mogul) made in France that is also genuine OEM type bearing. I would ask Jim about the Japan and China bearing.

I'll send you a PM. Yes, it is for early model only. PN 614117 BCA Bearing, Federal Mogul, Made in France. When I dig it up I'll send you photos and price to see if you want it. It has the genuine INA04 green bearing. It is also in a Valeo sealed bag in the box. It has no plastic collar insert.

Below is the tag on my 94, #256.

Never figured out why I have a blue tag below the black tag.

Hello Yun!!

I believe I see a REMAN tag there also and if done while in WARRANTY or even exchanged while the transmissions were still exchanged by GM it would have been replaced with "correct spec" trans.

I'm guessing yours won't have a correct VIN derivative and it might be interesting to see if the VIN derivative was actually removed or replaced by the REMAN facility. It might be interesting to compare the information on the tag with an OE tag.

The parts list, the trans number and customer reference information might be of interest. Post that next time you're "under there"!!

*** On your tag there's maybe a reference date to the rebuild of the trans. It could be Julian or maybe some other format but I do believe it might be able to be extrapolated from the tag. Looking at Rich's TRANSMISSION # it seems it's maybe actually just a date code. Is his 03/10 March 10th - 93 or maybe 0310 is NOV 06 - 93? Build date or date from Certification Label might be a clue.

Wow that interesting Yun, a black tag in a 94. Since it looks like it's a GM remanufacture, I assume you have the later input shaft?

Was the trans ever serviced or replaced since new? I believed engraving on the tag was not factory production?

YOUR TAG blew my thoughts as to the relevance/relationship of the TRANSMISSION # being related maybe to a DATE CODE - LOL. That's good information for me though as I looked at a couple NOS transmissions I have(after posting) and I couldn't relate mine to a DATE CODE either. Thanks for that post of your tag information again. I had overlooked Jerry mentioning the TRANSMISSION # of his. I doubt that since the transmissions were an "import" that the sequencing of the TRANSMISSION # is relevant to production # (VIN) of the car.

My NOS BLUE TAG LT1/LT4 (089) is #'d 051708 and my NOS LT5 (087) is still sealed in the GM carton. I haven't checked it.

This transmission was on the car when I bought it in 2000. I believe this must have been replaced under the warranty. I'll be replacing dual mass flywheel along with clutch, pressure plate, TO bearings as needed in near future. When I do, will take a better picture and post it.

Any "yes" - it has later output shaft.

Hope all is well, David H!

Was your 415CI done by Lingenfelter? Perhaps your "ZP 309 & 2.0" were done by a tech @ Lingenfelter to validate who and what was actually serviced during the build.
