Default Join the Corvette Plant's new Corvette Club!!

Well Gang,
I’ve been involved with a lot of Corvette stuff through the years but this may just be one of the most unique opportunities ever.

News from Bowling Green:
As most of you know, the GM Corvette Assembly Plant moved to Bowling Green, KY, in 1981 from St Louis, MO. Since then, it has made the Bowling Green the official “Home of the Corvette”. I’ve been visiting the plant since its 10th Anniversary way back in June of 1991 and I couldn’t help but notice what a terrific bunch of people worked there and who assembled our Corvettes. Seems everyone had on a Corvette shirt, had a decal on their desk or some other trinket around. They smiled at us when we came by and usually offered a friendly, “How y’all doin’?” One thing surprised me though, there were few if any employee Corvettes in the parking lot….

As years went by, those within the sacred halls of Corvette Assembly had talked about forming their very own Corvette club….there just wasn’t enough of them….

Well folks, things have really changed. Today the lots at the plant have numerous plastic beauties in them and the front main entrance horseshoe (reserved for Corvettes only) is full every single day. Not long ago, two of the employees once again thought of a club for its growing Corvette ownership. They asked around and finally decided to offer the employees a local road tour one Sunday afternoon. It was incredibly successful and this renewed interest has blossomed into a spectacular and unique idea.

The employees of the Bowling Green Assembly plant have organized the Bowling Green Assembly Corvette Club (BGACC) and already have over 90 employee members and we at Auto Masters have the honor of being their founding sponsor. During one of our conversations we discussed the idea of offering all Corvette owners this unique opportunity to become affiliated with the assembly plant through its Corvette club membership. We offered the idea, termed an “Honorary Membership” to some who attended the recent Corvette Homecoming and found a huge interest. In fact, they signed up over 30 new members at their very first outing!!

Well, this is your chance to become an Honorary Member of the Bowling Green Assembly Corvette Club. There are many never before offered benefits including the weekly plant newsletter. That’s right, you get the very same newsletter (pdf email) that the employees do covering all the latest in Corvette, plant and GM news. In addition, you will receive a beautiful membership certificate suitable for framing, club nametag w/logo, invitation to all club activities and tours, and employee member contact info ( a value in itself). Imagine having insider contact with Corvette employees! And don’t forget your membership entitles you to purchase all club apparel at the gift shop. Currently only T-shirts are available but polos and other items are coming in the very near future.

Whether you’re a member of your local or national club, the BGACC offers you a very unique and appreciated honor to become a member with those who “build your dream in Bowling Green”.

Watch for upcoming news and pictures in Corvette Quarterly.
