Tire Recommendations???
Guys, I've had my car 15 years and used GY Eagle GS and Nitto N555 Tires. Both flat spot badly on the rears after sitting just a coule of weeks. What luck have others had with different brands and what do you do to store through the winter?

Re: Tire Recommendations???
I have Michelins PS and I have not noticed it at all. My car often sits one week. Seldom two.

Re: Tire Recommendations???
Agree with Dynomite--raise the tire pressures in the winter while in storage. A friend who has for many years worked on and stored classic and sports cars puts 60 psi in the tires while in storage. I have been putting in about 55 psi or so and have had no flat spotting on my Michelin Pilot Sports. However, this Spring I did develop a slow leak in one wheel that was eventually diagnosed as a bad valve and repaired free at Costco (where I bought my tires). In talking with the manager he noted that valves are only rated to 40 psi. Maybe the higher pressure caused it although a) it has never happened before and b) only one went bad. But if you do go with higher pressure over the winter (as I still plan to do) be suspicious of the valve if you get a slow leak.--Bob

Re: Tire Recommendations???
In my experience, with several cars that sit for weeks (or longer), square wheels are a fact of life that dissipates in a mile or so. Increased pressures do help with this, and handling too .
Cheers, - Jeff
