Default Metal in exhaust?

I just got back from a 1 hr drive where I had the revs above 3k most of the time. When I got back, I found what looks to be metal in all 4 exhaust tips. It is not magnetic, but looks shiny from some angles. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? It does look similar to the stuff that collects on the bumper from driving, but that couldn't make it's way into the exhaust tips, could it?

Wonder if you have a cat coming apart.

Cats would make sense. They're pretty new though, fall of '12 if I recall correctly.

You have headers and aftermarket cats? Common resonator?

Headers, aftermarket cats, x-pipe, b&b mufflers and Z06 valves/tips.

Do you happen to know if they are steel substrate or ceramic honey comb cats. You may be able to collect some of the residue and have it analyzed.

You know, I really don't know which, but I want to say ceramic. Who could I send it to for analysis? I tried to collect some for a better look, but it gets covered with the exhaust residue and turns black.

It may be more trouble but I think I would drop the exhaust and check the cats. You don't want the particles getting sucked back into the motor as you back off the throttle.
