Default Lost instructions .. Confused on piggyback chip install :/

I can't find the instructions when I first installed Marc's chip. Can't find anything on his presentations page about my question.

The piggyback chip plugs into the ecm. The piggy back has half the pins as the Oem chip and am confused where on the oem chip to place them. Anyone know ? Knew I should have taken pics :/

I am guessing the original would fit in the same position the chip fits ? Just wanted to be sure and thought I'd ask first. A pic showing the pins on the chip, the number of pins fills about 65% of the pins on the oem chip. All the way to the right? All the way to the left ?

My best guess was all the way to the right .. Basically positioning the oem chip in the pins aligning to its original position on the ecu

Yes- that will do it. notice the original prom (chip) is no longer in the circuit, but the other knock sensor circuitry, and limp home resistor network is (on the right connected straight thru on the original pin positions). Also the new chip is oriented correctly with the notch pointing to the edge.

There is also a tab on the adapter that fits into a slot where the original prom was fitted. The OEM prom will also have this tab. IOW, the OEM Chip will slide into them ECM case ahead of the adapter. Push the adapter into the prom receptacle in the ECM. I suggest pushing on the outer edges of the adapter rather than the chips themselves. The blue and white clips should automatically engage and lock the adapter in place. Give the tabs a slight nudge to make sure they're locked.

How is the cover supposed to fit with that chip set sticking up so high?

Tony,

The OEM prom and adapter form a 90d angle. So the OEM prom slides into the case opening sideways. Then the adapter can be pushed into the prom socket.
