Re: Screwed up with rims
Your concern maybe needs to be this and I saved it for a separate post so as not to confuse. Not knowing where your brake rotor/hub face is located we don't know where the factory tire/wheel is at NOW. Perhaps it's now already at a position that's outside or very close to the hood lip so that needs to be your primary concern. The "plumb-bob" answers that question. The only other spec that is questionable at all is the 72.6mm center bore. It would be very snug actually undersized by a little for the factory hub diameter but your hub center could be dimensionally different. You could check.
The 52mm I would think a plus to correct your situation. You've undoubtedly established a bit of a relationship with the vendor so maybe having a "single" shipped to check the fitment might be in order. How close is the vendor? Last edited by WVZR-1; 11-25-2013 at 11:31 PM. |

Re: Screwed up with rims
Here is what I mentioned checking with ARE that I called "spoke-placement" and I've never had that questioned but here's an image where it's referenced as "pad thickness". This is a dimension that you're most concerned with in addition to where the factory 9 1/2 is now regarding the placement in the wheel-house.
This isn't quite a correct image for dimensioning because they measure to the wheel center and there's no allowance for the hardware that's holding the wheel together. That's of course not an issue for you. Last edited by WVZR-1; 11-26-2013 at 06:52 AM. |

Re: Screwed up with rims
The stock rim still sits inside the fender even with the upgraded rotors.I think the 52 offset is the ticket..However I will call American Racing to verify..Unfortunetely the wheels came from Summit and they are not willing to help me out in any way.It does clearly state when ordering that they are custom wheels and are non returnable. These will hit EBay this weekend. These were $329 each..I'd be happy to get back $500 for the pair..

Re: Screwed up with rims
Those are some interesting looking rotor hats...
I also have Brembos on my car but the rotors and hats are different. They seemed to fit fine with A-molds, although I never had a-molds and these brakes on my car at the same time:

Re: Screwed up with rims
I would tell you how sexy those calipers are except the price would go up when you take them off and sell them to me.

Re: Screwed up with rims
For starters the bolt circle isn't a match and I believe you can't find either that use offsets in the "single" digits. There are some very high teens but most are low to mid twenties. There are model specific that require high thirties to low and mid forties.
OP - I'd say you've the correct idea regarding a sale on eBay and you can post actual snapshots rather than just "stock" images so that might be a plus. Post them just as you noted the specs on the 52mm wheel you want to attempt this time. I'd certainly try to retain as much of the original pay out as I could. Post a realistic "buy it now" and maybe ask for "offers". You get what you want or close let them go. I don't think I'd post asking prices that are going to get you "beat up". The wheels should have a rather substantial lip or what some of us called "reversed" decades ago so they should make for "striking snapshots"! Boast that yours are ready to ship - no six week wait! The bad is that Amazon has the 5 X 5 bolt circle at $187 - There are buyers for these - I don't believe it's as great an issue as you expect. Be prepared to answer many questions. And as for anyone that is slamming their BMW they want more lip than Barrel. I am not saying you will sell them a 8mm offset is drastic. However, If there is anywhere to sell them here is the location. http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=85
