ZR-1 Success in Maryland Public Television CARnvival
Over the weekend, several WAZOO members participated in the Maryland Public Television, first annual MotorWeek CARnival.
Bert Rankin (SteelBlueZR1) did a fabulous job creating and producing this unique car show. With an emphasis on quality cars and family fun the show was a success. It was nice to see Bert, Phil, Dempsey, Glenn and Clayton. The MPT CARnival was a great car show. Lyndi and I had a wonderful time and based on the comments of many other attendees, so did lots of people. Gongratulations go to Phil (jagdpanzer). His beautiful 1994 Bright Red ZR-1 won Best in Class for the Modern American Car category. Here is Phil receiving the trophy from John Davis of MotorWeek: Lyndi and I won a Trophy for Farthest Travelled Based on the 10,000-mile Alaska trip: The ZR-1's were well received by many spectators at the show. We got lots of recognition and comments. Here are the some of the winning cars: Here are Bert and I working on the show paperwork: Phil and Jim: Jim

Re: ZR-1 Success in Maryland Public Television CARnvival
There was a lot of coverage by the MPT camera crews. I got interviewed in a video spot, but I don't have any information on MotorWeek's production plans.
Sport Chevrolet, in cooperation with GM, unveilled a 2014 Corvette at the show. So even though it was a all-cars show, the Corvette Community was well represented. Phil's ZR-1 is a stunning example of a ZR-1, helping to Keep the Legend Alive. Jim

Re: ZR-1 Success in Maryland Public Television CARnvival
Thanks Jim for everything you did to support Maryland Public TV and make CARnival a success! You are way too modest. Congratulations to you, Phil. and Lyndi for your well deserved trophies!
Phil, the judge in your class came to me with a tie in scoring and had to get another judge to come over to see your car and other car and make a decision. Yes, MPT is definately creating a webisode of MPT's MotorWeek CARnival with John Davis as narrator ... I will soon post a link here on the forum to the webisode at MotorWeek.com so everyone who missed CARnival can see how amazing it was - Thanks to the perfect weather, breathtaking scenery at Lilypons Water Gardens, and an amazing array of about 250 cars and estimated 7,000 attendees, we made magic this past Saturday! Jim, could you please share Lyndi's great pictures with me at brankin@mpt.org?

Wow Bert! I'm very impressed! It looks as though there was a strong representation amongst the ZR-1 community and no doubt we represented the ZR-1 well! Phil's ZR-1 is always immaculate, even more so than the rest of the WAZOO gang's ZR-1s! I can't wait to see the video!
Great Job Bert! Mark
