Can anyone retrieve a CARFAX report for me?
I currently own an 85 L98 Vette, but I've got the bug to get a ZR-1. To me, a Z is more than just a car, it's a piece of history, and besides that, they're a blast to drive! I am hoping to buy one within the next few weeks and there are 2 red ones around here that I'm considering, both of them are similarly priced and mileage is pretty similar as well. If possible, I would appreaciate it if someone would please help me out with a car fax for each of these. My email is gregm999@gmail.com. Thanks! Here are the VINS:

The last 4 digits tell the production number of the car. Almost 50% of all ZR1's are 1990's and half of them are Bright Red (81U). Bright Red (81U) is the most common color for the 1990 ZR1 with 1560 made out of 3049 total ZR1's produced. The most common color interior for the red cars is black or saddle (beige). Red 1990 ZR1's are the fastest, prettiest, most sexy of all ZR1's. TomC '90ZR1 #792 Bright Red with saddle interior

Re: Can anyone retrieve a CARFAX report for me?
That is one stunning Z!
I agree, red is by far my favorite color on the ZR-1. My current 85 Corvette is black, but I made a decision that I would only settle for a red, or possibly white, ZR1. I don't mind the fact that Red is the most common color. I would prefer a red or black interior, but I don't mind saddle. BTW, I've been reading the "Heart of the Beast" book, and the story of the ZR-1 is just amazing. I cannot wait until the day that I can actually say that I own one. Hopefully that day will come very soon. |

I've narrowed my search down to one of the vehicles I listed above (the first one,) so if no one comes through with a carfax in the next few days, I'll just pay for one myself once I am ready to buy the car. I can't wait until the day that I actually have a ZR-1 in my garage. I've always dreamt of owning one, but never thought I could afford one. However, when I started researching prices a few weeks ago on a whim, I was shocked at how reasonable the prices were for a 90. I believe that at an average price of about 20k, that's a steal considering what an amazing car the Z, how much time and effort went into designing the LT5, and also considering the fact that it will hold it's value and eventually begin to rise in value. You can't say that about many $20,000 cars. All those factors considered, it's a no brainer for me to sell my 85 and purchase the King Of The Hill!! |

It is great to read your post as many of us felt the same way when looking to buy our first ZR-1.

Yeah, I think during my short lifetime I've only seen 3 ZR-1's on the street, and I remember each time vividly. I was just literally in awe of the beast. I can clearly remember that ZR-1 "mystique" that we all know. You just don't get that feeling when you see a Z06 or a regular C6, as nice as those cars are. I just knew I was in the presence of a truly unique, rare, and ultra powerful car. Once I get one of my own, I don't think I'll ever sell it.
