Default Need replacement clutch kit for '94

So for the past while I've occasionally had a bit of a screeching/whistling noise when the clutch pedal is depressed (assuming the throwout bearing), and the last few weeks I've started experiencing a "shiver" when I'm shifting and the clutch is engaging. So I'm planning on a clutch replacement and would appreciate advice on where to find one that's EXACTLY a stock replacement for a '94. Based on what I've read it sounds like some of the clutch kits advertised as a replacement are actually slightly different, so I'd appreciate advice on where such a thing can be found?

Also, I'm not really clear on whether it's necessary/advisable to replace the flywheel at the same time? Thoughts on this point are also appreciated!

Rusty,
I would suggest that you contact Jim Jandik at Power Torque Systems in New Virginia, Iowa. Jim was at the recent ZR-1 Gathering in Bowling Green. He will be able to help you with all things related to the clutch in your ZR-1. Website is www.PowertorqueSystems.com

Thanks all for the advice! I've been in touch with Jim and he's been very helpful so far. I'm definitely going to get some parts from him and have him rebuild others. Unfortunately he doesn't have a non-Chinese throw out bearing, although he said he's still looking into whether he can find one. In the meantime, is there any chance someone on the forum knows where to get a new old stock German made t/o bearing? Or has a spare one laying around that they may be willing to part with?

I'll start a new thread about the throw-out bearing if need be, but thought I'd try keeping it in this thread, first.

make sure you use the correct bearing puller for the pilot

the old "pound it out with grease" trick will give you a nice internal oil leak that will kill the motor when it kicks out a crank plug.
