God, this looks like fun! Wish I didn't have to work that weekend.
Hope there's another event like this later in the summer. Lift a cold one and smoke a tire or two for me! Dave

Re: Private ZR-1 event Saturday April 6th
I'm in with a reservation and am staying at a Hampton Inn. Will drive the ZR-1 up the 5th from Chester, Va.....the Metro Richmond area.... and home the 7th probably the same way.
In case anyone wants to "caravan" I'm taking a sort of scenic drive from my area which adds about 75 miles or so to my drive by going west to the mountains before turning north. I will leave mid morning, assuming it's decent weather, the metro Richmond area from Midlothian on route 60 going West to Amherst, Va. which is about an hour and a half or so and just beyond until I hit the junction to go North on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Going up into the BRP area rte 60 is a windy two lane scenic road and this is all country once you are outside metro Richmond, flat piedmont rising to the Blue Ridge. Once on the Blue Ridge Parkway whose speed limit is technically 45 mph I'll head north for about 50 miles along the road which is roughly the spine of the mountains plus or minus a little to Waynesboro, Va. then get off on I 64 and go briefly W. to I 81 then turn north again and take I 81 all the way into Carlisle. My drive will be about 5 or 6 hours and I'd rather do this than head up to DC and the I95 traffic and angling over nw from DC and on to Carlisle which would be a shorter drive but much less scenic with more traffic congestion. This is at least the scenic route considering where I live. If anyone going has a tangent that intersects with this and wants to do any or all of it with me let me know here or pm and I'll adjust my driving time to be at whatever tangent point you want to meet at. I've done the B.R.P. in my '76 before and it's pleasant. I 81 N. of Waynesboro is typical interstate. I could continue in the mountains from Waynesboro and take the Skyline Drive's 106 miles n. to Front Royal but it's 35 mph speed limit and a bit too slow for my tastes having done that before as well. Might be nice enough that time of year to keep the Targa top off and the windows up and enjoy nature a little. Some views of the Shenandoah valley are quite pretty.

Re: Private ZR-1 event Saturday April 6th
Here are a couple photos from the prior Skyline Drive with my other red 76...it's pretty up there and they don't call it the "blue ridge" for nothing...when you look out from the mountains spines towards either the piedmont of the Shenandoah Valley the air often has a bluish cast to it and it is very peaceful looking.....scenic!
