The alternative is to confiscate all cars over 100 hp the next time a kid is killed by one.

IMO anytime someone says" YOU DONT NEED " that in itself creates a need. History ALWAYS repeats itself. I read about Hilter , I see what is happening in Syria, etc There is a way they ( the system ) might try and force people into doing what they want , ( turning in their guns) . Go to a cashless society ( surely everyone can see that coming ) in fact its biblical, No man might by or sell unless he has the mark of the beast or number of his name. For this to happen It means it has to be passed thru the governmet and a court system. So IMO I think the systems global court will come to power or our Government will fall. Either way I guess we're headed to a real bad future. All this is just My Opinion..

They should have prevented the perps access to the school.

The NRA has argued the mental health lobby and federal laws have prevented the names of people with potentially dangerous mental health problems from being put into a federal database. Further, criminals won't comply with any federal database.

Gun-control legislation, if passed, will go from a universal (background) check on the law-abiding citizens who want to purchase a gun of any kind into a universal registry on ALL law-abiding people owning a gun of any kind.

Fully automatic weapons have been highly regulated since the gun control act of 1934. They require a tax stamp, full back ground check, fingerprinting, registration and are subject to all kinds of special storage, transport and other requirements. In 1986 sale of newly manufactured machine guns to civilians was banned altogether. Very few of these registered machine guns have ever been involved in a crime. I get the feeling you are confusing AK47 machine guns with the semi-automatic only versions of the AK47 that are commonly available to civilians today. I think the media is misleading a whole lot of people with this "assault weapon" nonsense by blurring this distinction. You cannot just go down to a gun store or show and walk out with a machine gun, you can buy a semi-automatic rifle. It is the semi-automatic arms that are currently under attack by gun control advocates. They may look like their machine gun counterparts but they function just like a Colt Govt. model pistol (one shot per trigger pull).
