Have any of the members used Mobil1 Extended Performance Oil? If so could you offer an opinion for or against? Is it worth the extra 2 bucks and change? Thanks.

I buy my Mobil1 at COSTCO & all they carry is the regular full syn stuff. I would guess that there must be a better "cleanning additive package" in the extended life stuff....can't hurt anything and it proly has better sludge control than the regular stuff.
The only thing I try to be sure of is that I buy the full syn stuff...seems there are still some partial sys oils out there, even Mobil has partials. ![]() Tom

...and here's the blurb directly from Mobil 1's website... What is the difference between Mobil 1® Extended Performance and Mobil 1? Mobil 1 Extended Performance formulas are designed specifically for today's longer service intervals and are guaranteed to protect for up to 15,000 miles or one year. Mobil 1 Extended Performance has a unique formulation with a boosted level of protection and performance. Mobil 1 Extended Performance, with the Advanced SuperSyn System, contains 50 percent more SuperSyn than Mobil 1. (Updated March 2006) |

Thanks for the info. I think I'll try it for the extra protection. Wouldn't worry abourt the 15,000 mile interval because I change every 2,000 and old habits are hard to break.
