Will others give you a value and if so, what is the best way to determine it? Thanks and Happy New Year to all.
Same thing happened to me. I have Mercury Ins here in Calif. They won't give me a value: they said if a claim occurred, one of their insurance adjusters would examine the car, get comps, and come up with a number.
That makes me nervous, so on my to-do list is to find a fixed value company.
Any experiences in Calif?

Yeah, that would not be good in this era of undervalued ZR-1's.

Called Sandy today and my policy is in the works,THANK YOU JIMMY B!For my Z and my 1963 Nova Convertible the policy is $505 with agreed value $40,000 on the Z and $10,000 on my Nova.A note to you guys that cant get a commited value from your INS company, your going to get screwed in the event of a total loss. You NEVER go with stated value,if they say your cars worth $8000,thats what your going to get.If your in a position to shop for a better policy you need to do it now.On a side note J.C. Taylor would only go $30,000 max on agreed value. Thanks again Jimmy B.

Do they require appraisal for $40K coverage?

Yeah, I was ok with that given what I paid for the car. As I do upgrades and improvements I'll want to change but $30k is ok for now.
