One of me favorite body styles,had a 1980 L-82 and a 1981 4-speed Coupe.Almost bought a 4000 mile 1980 L-82 before I bought my ZR-1.For me the ultimate Corvette would be a 1980 L-82,Yellow-Tan cloth interior,steel ralleys with the T-Top carrier option.

I did get my car! Of course, It came at night, with flurries coming down & the wind howling. It looks really nice. I drove it about 25 miles to put it at my new house. The only incident was one of the aftermarket Mirrored top had the adhesive come off from the glass & I was afraid of breaking it if I went too fast. Makes a lot of machanical noise! The seats are awesome & extremely comfortable. I think heads & down it is all stock. It was put together in 1982! I think I have a winner!

Glad to hear you made it home ok. Mechanical noise is not a shock.

Re: ZR1 Brothers- New family Member for ZR1
Congrats on the "new" stable mate for the Z! Comparing my wife's 69 to the Z....well....they may as well have come from different planets. How-some-ever, I love working on that ol' war horse. With a mild cam and headers and side pipes, she "rude, crude, and socially unacceptabe", but I love 'er anyway! And, there is an 81 in my driveway - rescued from a sh*t-fist mechanic who all but destroyed the damn thing. But, thru its obvious trials and tribulations, the one thing that stands out is how comfy the seats are; the whole interior is quite refined. the late 80s C3s made excellent cruisers - not to mention looking beautiful while doing it!
Congratz! Course it ain't real w/o picutres... WE WANT PICTURES!! P.

Re: ZR1 Brothers- New family Member for ZR1
It's been since early summer since I drove my C3's. I was ferrying them to my new house. I remember saying "Boy, I remember those squeaks", actually kinda nice! Then I heard them again last night......it was comforting, really goofy! The seats in this one are recaro's, if you drive a C3, think about buying a set. The mechanical noise was the blower.
