Cool Hey! Flyboy..Dudes

ok..i was wondering...i kinda noticed..quite a few of you
Ron...Demps.etc..are
ZR1 owners...`I was talking to a friend the other day..and told him about
goin out to Nellis @ the western gathering..and how they wanted me to
join up and become an ace pilot..but ...my wife wouldn't let me...
anyway...why..so many buy zr1's..is it cause the cockpit feels kinda like
a fighter planes? or what? just sitting here...bored to death..frozen and
thought i'd ask...since someone asked me. I lied, and told em..we
had 50mm. cannon's in the front of the car...

The reason these two guys drive ZR-1s is like this....I'm sure that Rat (Ron) had his first...bein a highly educated and smart Viper driver (another name for an F-16 pilot) and when Demps (Vader) saw that the Viper guy was driving the ZR-1 he figured he better get on the stick...bein that he was flyin the HOMO jet and all... (sec check!...Eagles on the ground!!!) so he decided that he could do the Viper guy a lot mo betta...and buy 5 ZR-1s...so that the Viper driver would be "accepting" of the HOMO jet (Eagle) driver in the don't ask don't tell Air Force. I think that's how it happened. Yup I'm sure that's the way it went down...so to speak.

Speaking of the Nellis/West gathering. Who would know how that is organized? How did they get permission to do it? Would love to have an event like that out East!

Start with Ron Hanselman, Registry Vice President.

Ron Hanselman worked it at Nellis...he put in a lot of time to convince them that it was a good idea. Apparently there will be another event there soon (this Spring 07). Basically you need to have someone with inside access to a airport or base that will host such an event. we also tied in with NCCC for their insurance for the event. There's a plan in place to integrate the Net Registry into the NCCC for 2008, we are trying to figure out how best to get us integrated in 2007 with the least cost to the Registry. Their insurance deal is awesome for doing events such as this.

Thank you for the info. Figure it will be a long haul to make something like this happen. I work in the aerospace industry, was an active pilot until recently and have some airport relationships...wouldn't hurt to try and use them. I know high-speed burning of hydrocarbons may not be politically correct at the moment, but I for one would love to have an event llike this out here.
