Default Torsion Dampener Pictures

Attached are the pictures of the Torsion Dampener that was replaced on my 93 ZR1 recently and described in a e-mail on the net.

how did it happen .did the rubber rot out? what did the motor do ? just curious

John,

The car has 79000 miles, my belief is that the rubber got brittle and cracked, then the piece fell out. The engine had a slight vibration, I could tell something was not right, howver, those riding in the car could feel or hear nothing. You'll need a mirror to check it out, it's very difficult to see and I would not have found it. As I said in my Net e-mail the shop I took it to found it while inspecting the car. It is a PTA to change out.

Jerry, one thing to consider as well is the use of chemicals to clean around the engine compartment.

I never got the pics from you.

Your right Jeff, I've dropped allot of LSD & Cocain down there while showing the mighty LT5 to people and my dampener rotted off at the crank!
