Default ZF6 input shaft swap?

Given that the LT5 specific ZF6 is reasonably rare and more expensive than a standard LT1 spec trans, I started thinking about the possibility of swapping an LT5 input into a non LT5 transmission. As far as I know, that is the only difference, right? Doesn't seem like the input would be too hard to swap, and you could probably save some $$$ over a complete rebuiild of an ailing ZF6.

Any thoughts?

I've had it done. You just need someone who knows how to rebuild a ZF.

I have a real ZR-1 tranny that I've been trying to sell for a while if interested? I'm located just NE of Indy.
