I don't think that the '90 or '91-'93 wheels will clear the calipers. The a-molds provide adequate clearance, however.

So, upgrades brakes are going to mean new rims. Hhhmmmm, how will I convincer her of that?

Just tell her you can sell the original wheels to defray the cost

I think the key will be to teach her to drive it. She can't drive a stick. Then she'll be asking me about the next upgrade. The passenger seat is never as much fun as the drivers seat.

Honey the wheels are faulty and need replacement!!!! They are unsafe!

I'm taking off my C5 brakes this weekend.
