Default What do the experts think

I am considering purchasing a ZR-1. I want an early version before the flares. The prices are all over the place ranging from $21,000 to $42,000.

What do you guys think is a fair price for a "good" condition early (91) ZR-1? It will be a second Vette and I am looking forward to perfroming minor restoration myself.

15-20k depending on the miles.

I think the number from $15k to $20k is pretty close. I paid a tad more for a '91 with 62k on the clock. It was a one owner, all original documentation, and it was 500 miles away, so I could go see it before I bought it. That meant a lot. Keep your eyes peeled on the Registry For Sale section and you will come up with a nice one.

P.S. No ZR-1's had fender flares.

Good Luck

Body is the same for all 6 years.
The only difference is the body moulding. The '90's had a thin black body moulding, the rest had a wide moulding that filled the seam entirely. The '90 had a different front bumper and gill plates behind the front wheels, but that does not affect the width of the car.
Wheels aside, it's nearly impossible to differentiate a 91-95 ZR1 from exterior clues.

90 -91 had a 59.6/61.9 track and the 92-95 had a 57.7/60.6 track. I have heard that the 90-91 handles a little better and is a little more stable at high speeds. I want to keep the ZR-1 relatively stock (my C6 is my mod horse )

Anybody own and early and late ZR-1? What do you think?

I have a bone stock '90 that I've had about 7 months and love it to death. As a matter of fact, I'll have it out on the road tomorrow. This weather is freaky good.

I lived in Germantown when I was a student at UMCP (driving an '87 4+3). Let me know if you're ever going to any shows or anything, maybe we can meet up somewhere. I'm on the other side of the river just down US-15.
