Default Headlights

I have noticed recently that when I start my ZR-1, the left front headlight pops up after driving for maybe 30 seconds then it goes down. I seldom drive at night but when I did last week, after starting the car only the left headlight came up, turned the car off and started it again and both headlights came up. A night or two later only the left headlight came up.
I turned the car off and just turning the headlight switch both headlights came up. The next morning just turning on the headlight switch both headlights came up again, I tried it at least three times and every time both headlights popped up. Later that day I tried the same thing again but this time the right headlight didn't pop up. I was wondering if this could be a electrical problem. This season is starting out like a season from hell. I would appreciate any advice in regards to this issue. Thank You

Could it be the gears starting to fail?

Due to the car being 22 years young, I can see how the bushings would require replacing. I will endeavour to obtain headlight bushings. Thank you all for your replies to my thread. I contacted Ecklers Supplier and ordered bushings as well as brass Gear. Thank you
CHEERS!

Wait till you see the old Delran bushings! Just a pile of "gravel" is all that's usually left! Good old GM!

The bushings are in the HELP section of your local AutoZone and others.
Look for the pack with 3 white plastic bushings - I think they are for a Ford truck - and about $8.00 a pack. The gears are probably OK because the bushings poop out first.

Do the headlights automatically open when you start a Canadian car - is that the DRL thing?

Yes, that's the Canadian DRL option.
