I did this last year. Early antennas have external relay whereas later antennas have internal relay. I had to look at the electrical schematic but basically I cut the wires going to external relay on 90 and connected directly to later version antenna - can't remember wire colors though...

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
At the antenna relay located under the center hatch trim panel disconnect connector C1 a 3 pin plug with the following wires. Pin A Orange wires (Hot all the time) connect to Orange wire 93 antenna. Pin B Pink wires (Hot in ACCY or Run) connect to White wire 93 antenna. Pin C Black wires. Connect to Black wire 93 antenna. Braided ground wire goes from antenna case to car frame. There are a bundle of Black wires that don't connect to anything and act as a ground plane. |
