Alright guys, looks like it might be time for a clutch on the Z.
Ever since I bought the car the clutch has let out high. This weekend I made a few runs at the 1/8 mile track. The first run I bogged launching at too low of RPM not expect this NT-01's to grip as well as they did. On the second run I launched higher and it was the clutch not the tires that slipped ![]() So, what's the hot ticket these days for the budget minded performance enthusiast? My car is putting down ~380rwhp and sees a lot of racing, so I want to make sure and get something that will take the abuse (and maybe even more power one day =) Also, who has the best deal on AL flywheels? Reading a little bit, I want to make sure and get a clutch with a sprung disc. But, what do I need to do about balancing? Should I take it to the machine shop and have them match the balance to the stock dual mass? THANKS! Jordan |

Concur call the ZFDOC as to Flywheels Fidanza
And budget and the ZR-1 are not convergent terms

I'm running a Fidanza flywheel with a Spec stage 3 plus clutch kit and it is one bad mofo. Dennis will attest to that. Fidanza will run you $325. The spec stage 3 plus clutch kit will run you $620. Its not a sprung disk. A little more grabby than stock. But when it grabbs it doesnt let go. Good for up to 800hp.

The place I got my Fidanza from no longer carries them. But there are plenty of places you can get them. Just google Fidanza. It should only cost $325. The friction plate is already built into the flywheel. If your talking about the pressure plate I don't know if fidanza makes them. There are allot of great clutch manufacturers out there. Carolina/McLeod/Centerforce/Spec. I went with a Spec.

![]() Yeah, what he said. For the price of Spec Stage 3 clutch and Fidanza flywheel just add a few more bucks and get a 9.5" dual disc push type that can hold 800 torque You'll get new aluminum flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing everything to complete the install and will drive like a stocker. You will be getting rid of all the stock goofy moving parts shaft, levers it's like an old push rod LOL Pete

Or you could save a few bucks and get the single disk spec 3 + and Fidanza with the same 800hp clamping force.
