Injectors...
I may have lost a secondary, but Im not sure until I get a full check done.
All signals are leaning toward one is bad. So what is a good set of injectors to get for a mostly stock car? All I got is a Samco air duct and DRM chip, other than that all stock. Im looking for a stock, durable injector. Ive seen stuff on SS as opposed to stock that wont rust. What are some thoughts? |

Re: Injectors...
Just MHO from the peanut gallery.
My 90's coils went out to lunch from the alky in the gas so I bought the RC's #205's, the 210's work also.. They seem to work fine by me but I never dyno'ed the car before & after so I have no 'proof' that they are better or worse than the OEM stuff but my car don't even have a chip! When I was looking into it the prices I got on the GM replacements were very close to the RC's....a little less, say like a coupla hundred dollars on a set of 16 but the RC's are 100% s/s construction so that and the netregistry discount tipped it for me. The main thing I thought about in my case was the fact that the early injectors were all gonna fail eventually from the alky so even though I had only 4 primaries down, I was gonna need to watch the rest of them if I pieced the job. So I figured "let's just bite it & do them all & use the best stuff for the $". Aurora40 found a way from Marc Haibeck to use later mod yr injectors with a different O-ring on the primary side and found Delco injectors for less than a thou $ for the 16 of them. I think there is something from Accel also and MSD has some that work also. Tom

GM Multec = $100-125 each RC Eng = $68 each ($1040 for entire set) Accel 150121 = $37 each (Atlantic Speed) plus they'll knock off $40 if you mention ZR1 Net Reg, and they send a cool T-Shirt with the order. 'O' rings for primaries from Mark Haibeck $20. If you go GM originals, ethanol will cause failire again. They never updated the injector. The upside is that you can replace just the bad ones. If you go aftermarket, it's highly suggested to replace the entire set, secondaries or primaries. No mixing/matching. Either replace all the secondaries or all the primaries, or all of them. TomC

Re: Injectors...
Thanks for the info!!
I forgot to mention it is a 92 and mostly stock. I have heard good things about the RC and may go with them. I dont want to do it again. I have heard the RC's are less likely to failure. Now I gotta get some plenum gaskets beofre I start. |
