Default Thank you USA!

Hi. I live in Japan. I didn't experienced tsunami because I am living Nagoya city where is 500 km away from Fukushima. Some of my relatives were killed by tsunami but that is not my point of this post.

My point is that I would like to thank ten thousands of courageous United States soldiers who have been saving and are saving a lot of Japanese right now when I am writing this.

Your Ambassador Roos is a great guy and has been informing us about their activities via twitter. III Marine Expeditionary Force is incredibly speedy and powerful in executing "Operation Tomodachi".

One day one helicopter of III MEF suddenly landed on one small wrecked and isolated town in Miyagi prefacture. The crew from the helicopter handed a bunch of the foods, drinks, blankets, etc to the people of this town. The pilot got into the cockpit again. He smiled, waved and accelerated the engine and the helicopter flew away to the next wrecked town.

The people of the town were very surprised and were staggered about this most unexpected incident. That was the very countryside town and I think it might be the first time for some of them to see the American guys. I saw this in Japanese TV news. This must be just a piece of the whole operation.

I believe the III Marine Expeditionary Force had played a great roll for saving a lot of Japanese lives at the very hard times right after when the tsunami'd gone. I don't surprise if you hadn't heard about this kind of news because at the very beginning of this disaster, there were no press, no TV crews to report the operations.

I am embarrassed because our stupid prime minister Naoto Kan still seems not to express thanks publicly to US people and US government. He is a bossy chicken, the worst prime minister of all time(I hate his party). This disaster upset him and led him to panic. What a shame.

I would like to let all you know that a lot of Japanese people thank USA, especially the people of disaster area. They don't have PCs, twitter accounts, facebook pages nor smart phones and almost of them don't understand English BUT theyre fully thankful to US people.

As for me, I cannot possibly put my thanks into words because my poor English is not enough to do so.

Thank you USA!

Yoshifumi -

Your English is more than good enough. So sorry about your losses and I hope and pray for a speedy recovery from this horrible series of disasters.

As an US Navy veteran, I am proud to hear of the services provided by our military personnel. Thank you very much for conveying this message.

My Best Regards.

Scott

Yoshi,

May I call you Yoshi like your close friends do? I mean no disrespect.

Thank you for this expression of thanks and for telling us of events that we are not told of in any great detail. To receive first hand accounts of my country's military relief efforts in Japan makes me proud of our military and of my country.

People feel for any other people who have misfortune befall them as it is in our nature to have concern for others. It seems to me that politicians and political systems would have us be at odds with each other.

My prayers for all of Japan.

Yoshifumi,

My wife and I visited Japan 4 years ago and were very impressed with how beautiful Japan is. It is most beautiful for the way Japanese people take such good care of their homes and countryside. Their pride and respect for Japan is strong. Such devistation must go to the very soul of everyone.

We are so saddened and concerned for the people of Japan and feel helpless. Many of us have personal friends in Japan, so our concern is great. I am proud that our country is helping yours. It will take time and hard work to restore the damage. The personal loss will heal but never be forgotten, and that is as it should be.

Thank you for your letter and please stay in touch with us often. It is good to hear from you.

Tom, of course you can call me Yoshi.

One more thing. I think US seems to have begun to play a major roll in relieving the serious radiation leaks at Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant. I saw the news of NRC Chairman Jaczko's coming to Japan from US.Very a lot of Japanese people have been discussing about Fukushima Power Plant on twitters and on some SNS since the earthquake..

Sorry, this is not related to ZR-1. I will go back to normal topics in the next post.

Honda-san,

Thank you for your post and expression of gratitude to the US. It seems daily that my wife has tears for the people of Japan and all the suffering when hearing about or watching the news. It really is beyond belief and the news does not get close to covering what truly has happened to the wonderful country of Japan. I am happy to see the world coming to the aid of Japan. I look forward to when we can meet again after things settle down.

I believe as you stated in email that there is a reason why I am here in Japan and arrived two days after the big earthquake. I have a purpose and engaging in the effort in my own way through my military unit even if as a civilian now. If I did not arrive in country when I did, I would not have been allowed to move here so timing is everything and I have no regrets.

For those that did not get to see the Nova special about this tragic incident, here is the link from youtube and PBS:

Honda-san,

Speaking for myself I would say that even though this subject is not a ZR-1 subject it is a very important subject to all of our members.

" it's not the car, it's the people."

I would hope that you carry on informing us about events in Japan by using this thread.

Tom

Hi Craig. I hope all is as well as can be expected under the conditions. I pray that God keeps all of you safe.
