Re: Corvette Forum
Holy Massive Engines, Batman! That thing is huge! What engine is that, some type of North-star engine? Cylinder head looks a little bit like the LT5.

Re: Corvette Forum
It's 1700 lbs so automotive uses are out...well, maybe a neat conversion for a 1-ton truck or diesel- but even then..1700 lbs!
6500 rpms all day long in a boat- that's a runner for sure. |

Re: Corvette Forum
I'm a Mercruiser technician by trade. That is Mercruiser Racing's new motor. It's an all aluminum motor. Quad overhead cam, 4 valves per cylinder, twin turbo and intercooled.
Makes 1350 HP. They tried to break it on the dyno and couldn't. It is the first Mercruiser Racing engine to be offered with a warranty. It's got so much torque that the Mercruiser Racing #6 drives couldn't handle it, so they designed a new drive for this engine. Each engine/drive package goes for about $235,000. I wish I had that kind of money, but I do get to hang with guys that have that kind of money. We've got guys in our area with poker run boats that are running over 170 MPH. Jep |

Re: Corvette Forum
A weight of 1700 lbs was tossed out. That is for the engine, transmission, transom assembly and stern drive.
Also, it's 9.0 liter, or 552 ci. |

Hog from Canada posted a link to that a few weeks ago it's in our off topic section.
Jep, that comes with a full 1 yr warranty? When I was in the hobby the Cyclone packages came with a 90 day warranty. Man stuff has come a long waaaaay......jez I'm gettin old! Tom
