boy sure must be nice to do a burnout past the starting line ,if we do that where we race they get really pissed . what tire pressures did you try .also you can knock a tenth off your 60fts by pulling the upright connection to your front sway bar . also it helps a bunch if you move you mat sensor to the underside of the front bumper . as it gets heat soaked in the stk position waiting to run in the staging lanes and pulls a ton of timing out . you have me thinking of getting some 430s and ditching the 392s in my 92.nice air by the way

Most tracks consider burnouts passed the line a "faux pas", unless you are a dragster/funny car type.

Those dry hops made me nervous, I avoid them.

Nice runs.

peace

From my personal C4 drag strip experience you may want to have a rear spindle and bearing setup handy (or buddy with a trailer) if you launch any harder. With some help you can R&R a busted spindle at the track in about an hour.
Great advice! Where do i get a rear spindle and bearing setup and how much do they cost? Whats involved to put it in? What are the symptoms of a broken spindle?

Sorry for all the questions

Don't worry, when a spindle goes you will definitely know something in the drive train bit the big one. Spindles usually break at launch and thats as far as your race will go. Shut it down immediately in order to minimize the collateral damage of the halfshaft rattling around in the suspension knuckle unsupported.

Corvette Recycling has good prices for rear spindles and OEM NOS bearing hubs:

When the spindle pops it most always takes out the wheel speed sensor:

...and scares the brake rotor:

You can also snag these parts off ebay but be careful:

I didn't watch the runs, but stay away from dry hops...period. Old school thinking. Hurt's parts & dosen't do anything anyways. Just get in the beams as soon as you can is best.

yeah been on the wrong side of that one turned the spindle into a barbers pole and the 1/2 shaft in to a twisted piece of metal . what i did was get the nitrus ready 1/2 shafts froms dennys drive shaft, then has summers bros make new spindles and bearing surfaces. increased splines and better material . the cost for that was 1300. but they are about as solid as i am going to get without going to a boltin ford 9 in . which is about 5k.. just ask corey about what breaks (hes broken it all ) and what he would do and follow his suggestions .and like the above said take extra parts or trailer the car to the track

are you going to take her to a full size track (1/4 mile)? or is 1/8th mile the only thing near you . they can be few and far between .i know used to have to drive 200miles one way on drag radials to go race .
