Default coolant hose

I was squeezing the coolant hose that comes from the water pump yesterday and it felt like something was inside the hose. Is this normal? Is there supposed to be a support inside the hose to keep the shape?

I'm not familiar with the Z, but most vehicles have something inside the lower hose to the water pump. It is there to prevent the hose from collapsing too much. Most of the time it looks and feels like a coiled up piece of metal.

There is a spring thing that runs through it. Just like was said, I imagine it's to prevent collapse.

When I put in my Samco hoses, I did not transfer that spring thing. Hopefully that's the right way to do it...

I dont use a spring in my Samco silicone coolant pump suction side hose either.
