Pete,

To be clear, you installed larger intake AND exhaust cams? Could you show a compare of the previous cams vs the new one ie duration/lift?
Bravo! We'll be seeing it at Wayne's tomorrow night I assume and then scaring the crap out of C6 Zs in Indiana on Saturday.

What gears are you running?

Driveability success with higher duration cams is in large part due to the person who is doing the calibration.

I can hardly wait for the objective data.

I am in "talks" with a cam manufacturer in regards to brand new LT5 camshafts. $950 for 1 single LT5 camshaft is just craziness IMO, esp. for a flat tappet camshaft.
I'm sure folks around here would be happy to have source of even blanks to release the monopoly that is currently being experienced.

It drives like a stocker you don't notice cams till you stop and idle,it pulls nice from a stop and had her down to 1200 RPM cruising walk into the throttle she pulls smooth no bucking no coughing no spitting if it did that cams would be coming out.
Like you said it's in the tune.

I have 4.10 gears for now thinking of going back to my 3.45's i like running to 60MPH with no shifts.

As of right now i don't see any drewback to the cams.

Yes,we do need another cam source.

Before
.236 .425 In
.220 .415 Ex

Now
.242 .450
.228 .420

Kevin (Polo1) if it bucks under 1900 it's in the tune like i mentioned i took it down to 1200 and no bucking pulls smooth.
I will have another FBI member drive it tomorrow and they can post there findings.
Believe me when i say if it did stupid stuff they would be coming out.

The only drewback not so much a drewback just the nature of big cams,
set the idle at 950 but with big cams it sounds more like it's at 700
I will try and get video of the idle and exhaust sound.

Pete

Shweeeeeet! Looking forward to hearing it run - idle AND past the C6 Z06s on Saturday! I'll bring my little Nikon tonight at Wayne's and we'll get that video clip. We prolly need to figure out a photo shoot for the entire gang, while swillin' brews n eatin pizza!

Anywayz, I'm jazzed to hear those big cams still have street manners too! C-ya 2 nite and hopefully tomorrow as well for the big event!

Yeah if it makes some good power as a 350 I'd prefer to upgrade mine and keep the bottom end stock.

I can answer that!!

Pete did me the honor of allowing me to pilot the "mean green machine" last night at our FBI GTG. I can report that off-idle when you let the clutch out the car drives like stock cams, as far as driveability goes.

At 35 mph I put it in 5th gear to bring the rpm down around 1300 rpm and proceeded (several times in fact) to step into the throttle. There was absolutely NO bucking or balking...just smoooooth acceleration right on up the tach! And, coupled with those 4.10 gears, that car justly earns its name, "The Green Monster"...GEEEZE what a rocket!

I told Pete that I'd had enough of driving his car. I just got mine running and a good comparison would be driving a Z and then hopping into an LT1 car!! No kidding! There is THAT much MORE under the throttle on Pete's car over a "plain ol 500+ hp motor" like mine, and I don't need to spawn the "need for (more) speed already!

Now when that MGM is idling, she sounds friggin awesomely wicked!... You be the judge. Pete has a beautiful tune on that car, "fer sher". (Click on the picture for a video clip)

Holy Smokes Pete!
That sounds like...I don't know what it sounds like......but it sure sounds like you better bring the whole load if you want to mess with that car!

LT5 porn vids! now I've listened to Kevin's and Pete's sound clips.....I don't hate my car, but it sure don't don't make those kinds of sounds!
